Dimapur Police rescue abducted petrol pump employee in Chümoukedima; four accused arrested after INR 5 lakh ransom demand.

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police rescued a petrol pump worker allegedly abducted for ransom and arrested four persons following a late-night operation in Chümoukedima district on Friday.
According to the Dimapur Police PRO, the incident was reported from Kibami Enterprise Petrol Pump at 4th Mile after the outlet’s manager informed police that one of the employees had gone missing at around 10.20 pm.
The worker had reportedly stepped out of his room but did not return. When colleagues tried to contact him, his mobile phone was found switched off and his whereabouts could not be traced.

Police said that the victim later managed to contact his colleagues and informed them that he had been abducted and was being physically assaulted by four unidentified individuals, who demanded a ransom of INR 5 lakh for his release and threatened to shoot him if the demand was not met.
Following the report, an FIR was registered at Diphupar Police Station, and police personnel along with an anti-extremists tactics (AET) team from Chümoukedima launched an operation and rescued the victim.
Four persons were arrested in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Solomon R, SS Kilonser of NSCN (U) (Alezo–Neokpao); Lakimong, SS Lt. Col. of NSCN (Nikki); Lokhu Yimkhiung; and Mughai Aye.
