Police personnel have confiscated 100 cases of IMFL comprising 1, 032 bottles from a vehicle in Kohima. A team of mobile unit of the District Executive Force of Kohima deployed at 10th Mile Junction, Zhadima for surveillance duty intercepted the vehicle, a Mahindra Scorpio (NL01C-4124, Engine No. BF44A13240, Chassis No. MA1TA4BFC42A61640) from Nerhema village junction on January 29 around 3:00 AM after a hot chase, the police informed on Thursday.
The occupants of the vehicle were arrested. They have been identified as Phuto Achumi, 21 years of Tokiye village, and Mughaka Chopy, 24 years, of Lotisa village.On thorough interrogation of the two arrested persons, it was revealed that the consignment was being transported to Tseminyu from Dimapur.
The police surveillance team also intercepted a Maruti Alto (NL-01H-4992, Engine No. 3333092, Chassis No. MA3EYD81S0078007) that was escorting the Scorpio. The persons in the second vehicle were arrested and identified as Viksha Assumi, 28 years of Achukshu village and Pikato Awomi, 21 years of Aghunato.
