The 3rd Annual Hornbill Cycle rally, organized by Alaphra Tourism, was held on December 7 under the theme ‘Bike the Drive – for a sustainable environment’. The rally with 80 participants both male and female from various walks of life was flagged off by Himato Zhimomi, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Tourism, Art & Culture from Kisama Heritage Village, Kohima. The youngest participant of the rally was Vemele Hiese Vadeo, who is 12 years old.The rally was flagged in by the Governor of Nagaland, Assam & Tripura, P.B. Acharya, at Old DC Bungalow. The Governor also gave out a Firefox cycle to Sentienla Ababe, winner for the lucky draw and also interacted with the participants over lunch.
The rally was organized by Alaphra Tourism, a division of Alaphra Group in order to create awareness about the environment under the theme ‘Bike the Drive – for a sustainable environment’.
The rally was sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with the Department of Forest, Environment, Ecology & wildlife, Government of Nagaland along with State Bank of India, Aircel, Big Bazaar (Future Retail), Firefox and Nagaland Manpower & Project Consultancy Services.
