DIMAPUR — Nagaland has a total of 3,980 Anganwadi Centres functioning across the state, supported by 3,954 Anganwadi workers, catering to an overall beneficiary strength of 1,14,038 eligible individuals according to the Poshan Tracker data as on December 31, 2025.
According to the data, out of the 3,980 Anganwadi Centres, 2,900 centres remained operational for at least 15 days, while 1,705 centres were open for a minimum of 21 days during the reporting period, reflecting varying levels of functionality across different locations.
The beneficiary profile indicates that out of the total eligible beneficiaries, 3,217 were infants in the age group of 0 to 6 months, while 37,651 children belonged to the 6 months to 3 years category, 49,461 children aged between 3 years and 6 years. In addition, 1,476 pregnant women and 2,684 lactating mothers were covered under the scheme.
The data further revealed that 19,549 adolescent girls were enrolled as beneficiaries, of whom 17,357 have been Aadhaar verified, highlighting progress in digital identification and verification processes within the programme.
Infrastructure-wise, the state has 2,387 Anganwadi Centres operating from their own buildings. The Anganwadi system continues to play a crucial role in delivering essential services such as supplementary nutrition, early childhood education, health check-ups, and maternal care across Nagaland, particularly in rural and remote areas.
As per district-wise, Chümoukedima has a total of 196 Anganwadi Centres supported by 196 Anganwadi workers, with a total of 7928 eligible beneficiaries; Dimapur has 191 Anganwadi Centres, supported by 189 Anganwadi workers with a total of 9931 eligible beneficiaries.
Among the districts, the highest number of Anganwadi Centres is in Mon district with a total of 403 centres, supported by 399 workers with 21,950 eligible beneficiaries, followed closely by Mokokchung with 400 centres and workers catering to 6,906 beneficiaries.
Zunheboto reported 388 centres with 386 workers and 8,152 beneficiaries, while Wokha had 358 centres and workers serving 8,107 beneficiaries.
Kohima has 348 Anganwadi Centres, 342 workers and 10,430 beneficiaries, followed by Phek with 319 centres, 318 workers and 8,354 beneficiaries.
Peren had 266 centres and workers catering to 6,310 beneficiaries, while Tuensang has 248 centres, 247 workers and 5,046 beneficiaries.
Kiphire has 199 centres with 197 workers serving 4,775 beneficiaries, Longleng has 162 centres with 162 workers and 3,551 beneficiaries.
Niuland has 134 centres, 126 workers and 2,573 beneficiaries, while Noklak has 107 centres and workers catering to 2,679 beneficiaries.
Shamator has 105 centres serving 4,562 beneficiaries, Tseminyu has 83 centres and workers with 1,216 beneficiaries, and Meluri recorded the lowest with 73 Anganwadi Centres, 73 workers and 1,568 eligible beneficiaries.
