38 stranded persons reach Mokokchung

Mokokchung, May 14 (EMN): A total of 38 persons from Dimapur reached Mokokchung on May 13 with the support and contribution of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, minister Metsubo Jamir and K Bendangtoshi Pongen from Ungma village.

Before the departure, Longkumer visited the stranded people at Kohima local ground (Khouchiezie) wherein he encouraged them to maintain social distancing back home and to stay safe. He also lauded the Ao Students’ Union, Kohima (ASUK) for reaching out and helping the people in need.

An update from ASUK stated that the stranded people could reach home through the monetary assistance of the NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, Metsubo Jamir. It added that K Bendangtoshi Pongen from Ungma village had provided refreshment for the stranded people during their journey.

The inter-district movement started from May 7 which was later extended till May 13. Altogether, 347 persons have reached home safely.
