37th National Games: Manipur starts campaign with 2 gold
IMPHAL — Manipur gymnastic team won two gold and a silver at the Peddam Sports Complex at the ongoing 37th National Games at Goa, on Friday.
Ariha Pangambam’s flawless and well choreographed moves in the individual aerobic gymnastic earned him a well-deserved gold medal.
Close on the heels of the first gold, the trio aerobic gymnastic team comprising of Ariha Pangambam, Anjori Pangambam and Leishilembi Chabungbam, also won a gold.
S Ruban Meitei added a silver for the state in the floor exercise.
“The performance of our boys and girls in the gymnastics is very encouraging and we hope that the new competitive arenas of the discipline will have a fresh enthusiasm among the new generation,” Yanglem Bony, the coach of the gymnastics said.
In the 76kg category of the women’s weight lifting, S Chaoba Chanu won the bronze medal.
