35,248 students enroll for HSLC and HSSLC exams

A total of 35,248 students would be appearing for the upcoming Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations under the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) scheduled to commence from February 7.According to a statistical handout of the NBSE signed by its chairman Asano Sekhose, the total includes 13570 students of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) for class 12 and 21,678 students of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) for class 10.
There has been an increase of 907 students as compared to last year’s 34341 candidates appearing the examinations. This year there is an increase of 538 students in the HSSLC level while HSLC has added 368 candidates.
In the HSSLC, there are 9870 candidates in Arts stream, while Commerce and Science has 1150 and 2550 students respectively.
The HSSLC has 6992 male candidates and 6578 female candidates.
The examinations would be conducted in 45 different centres across the state from February 7 till March 1 for HSSLC students.
In HSLC 10837 students are male and 10841 female students. Out of the total 21,678 candidates 12994 are from recognized institutions while 4458 comes under permitted, 4197 are repeaters while 29 are under others category.
The matric exams would be conducted in 69 different centres from 905 government and private institutions throughout the state.
The HSSLC will commence from February 7 and conclude on March 1 while HSLC will begin on February 11 and conclude by February 25.

Mokokchung geared for exams

DEPUTY Commissioner, Mokokchung, Murohu Chotoso convened a co-ordination meeting on February 4 to chalk out arrangements for HSLC & HSSLC examination 2014 and the following departments and officials were detailed in different examination centres for the smooth conduct of the exams.
Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung has been directed to detail 5 security personnels, thre males and two females to each examination centres, Chief Medical Officer to detail medical teams to each centre, Treasury Officer to open Treasury office at 8 am on examination days and ensure safe custody of examination/confidential papers, Post Master to ensure opening of the post office and ensure early dispatch of examination materials.
The following officers were also assigned to perform magisterial duty at the following centres:
• Livitoli Sukhalu, EAC Hq & Temsumeren, PA to DC, Mokokchung at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
• Manazir Jeelani, (P), Asst. Commissioner, Mokokchung & Zulunungsang, PA to DC, Mokokchung at Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
• Thejakhrienuo Niza, EAC (P), Mokokchung & Tsuknungsowa, Head DB, Mokokchung at Government High School, Dilong.
It is also informed that all Centre Superintendent, Magistrates on duty and security personnel detailed for examination duty to reach Treasury Office by 8 am for collection of exam materials. DIPR
