3471 citizens evacuated till date

Kohima, May 24 (EMN):
A total number of 3471 stranded citizens have reached Nagaland till date, according to an update received from the control room of Empowered Committee in Dimapur on Sunday evening.

As of 6.30 pm on Sunday, a total of 104 returnees had arrived in Nagaland.

When contacted, sources from the Empowered Committee informed Eastern Mirror that a train from New Delhi had transported 66 passengers, while another train from Dibrugarh ferried two persons to Dimapur.

A bus each from Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal carrying a total of 27 passengers also reached the commercial hub on Sunday.

On the same day, three private cars with nine persons from the Northeast states entered the state.

So far, a total of 1928 have arrived by train and 1439 returnees have reached the state by road.
