Dimapur, May 25 (EMN):
Nagaland has 34 ventilators—seven districts with one ventilator each while Peren does not have any, according to the latest update from Covid war room dashboard.

It informed that there are 13 ventilators in Dimapur; 10 in Kohima; four in Mokokchung while Phek, Longleng, Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Kiphire and Wokha have one each.

The chief medical officer of Tuensang, Dr. Moatemjen Jamir told Eastern Mirror that the Assam Rifles donated the lone ventilator when the ICU at the district hospital was inaugurated. “Many cases have shown that ventilators are not necessary but most important is the oxygen masks and therapy which is much more effective,” said Jamir.

While the returnees from Chennai were scheduled to arrive in Tuensang after their three-day quarantine, Jamir informed that the government has changed plans after three persons were tested positive. “They will come after complete testing and quarantine as informed by the chief secretary,” said Jamir.

As of Monday, 83 persons were under institutional quarantine and 22 under home quarantine in Tuensang.
