333 new Covid-19 cases, 15 deaths recorded in Nagaland; tally inching close to 16000

Dimapur, May 8 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded 15 deaths and 333 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, pushing the state’s active caseload to 2711 and tally to 15,913.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated that out of the 333 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 204 were in Dimapur, 116 in Kohima, six in Mokokchung, four in Mon, and one each in Tuensang, Peren and Longleng.

He added that as many as 19 patients -- 14 in Dimapur, four in Kohima and one in Mokokchung -- recovered during the same period.

The state has also registered 12559 recoveries so far and 117 deaths, out of which 10 have been ruled “not Covid-related”.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department’s update, the state currently has 2711 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 2451 are asymptomatic, 125 mild, 39 moderate on oxygen, 71 severe on oxygen, 16 critical-ICU with oxygen and nine critical-ICU on ventilator.

The state has also registered 12559 recoveries and 127 deaths, out of which 10 are “not Covid-related”.

A total of 15 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours, nine of which were reported on Saturday -- eight in Dimapur and one in Zunheboto.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 1,792 active cases, 726 in Kohima, 48 in Mokokchung, 67 in Mon, 30 in Tuensang, 16 in Longleng, 10 in Zunheboto, eight in Peren , seven in Phek, four in Kiphire and three in Wokha.
