DIMAPURM — The first batch of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) programme concluded at Peren Government College (PGC) on Friday.
The programme, initiated by Startup Nagaland under the Department of Industries and Commerce and supported by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), was implemented by Educentre School of Business (ESB) to foster entrepreneurship among students, an update stated.
In his address, Namziulung Pamai, functional manager at District Industries Centre, New Peren, emphasised the efforts being made by the department to assist aspiring entrepreneurs through various schemes and initiatives.
He encouraged the students to utilise the available resources and opportunities to shape their entrepreneurial journeys.
During the programme, students from the first batch shared testimonials, reflecting on how the EDC initiative had transformed their mindsets towards entrepreneurship.
A total of 30 registered students were awarded certificates on completion of the programme.
An innovation challenge was also held, where two promising startups namely Beads of Paradise, a venture dedicated to preserving local handicrafts, and Robust Lunch Box, an initiative aimed at solving the challenge of delivering lunch for children and easing the burden for mothers, were recognised.
The programme began with a welcome speech delivered by Albert, vice principal of Peren College, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Achumi Ezung, head of Political Science department.
It mentioned that the EDC initiative continues to inspire young minds across Nagaland to become entrepreneurs and contribute to the local economy.
Meanwhile, ESB has thanked Startup Nagaland and IDAN for their continuous support towards boasting of the startup ecosystem.
