2nd Kohima District Volleyball Tourney begins

A three-day long 2nd Kohima District Volleyball Tournament (Men & Women) organized by Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) commenced today at the Kohima Local ground under the theme “Transcending through games”.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Assistant Director, Youth Resources & Sports (YRS), Nizheto Awomi maintained that volleyball is amongst the most popular games in the state. He therefore challenged the Nagaland Volleyball Association and KDVA to promote the game on larger scale and at the same time urged upon the sports lovers to take the game on professional line.The inaugural function was chaired by organizing committee convenor Kezhalelhou Zatsu while welcome address was delivered by KDVA president Visasielie Suohu. KDVA joint secretary Er. Dziivichiito Khale administered oath to the participating teams.
Altogether, men’s category has 17 teams while women have 9 teams taking part in the league tournament.

The tournament will go on till October 31.
