2nd 10 Northern Angami-I T20 Bash commences

The 2nd 10-Northern Angami-I T20 Bash 2015 commenced today at Kohima Village Ground, Ziekezou under the theme “Bat for Unity”.
The tournament is organised by Brotherhood Group under the aegis of Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, New & Renewable and Music Task Force, Khriehu Liezietsu, the present sitting MLA of the constituency.
A total of 16 teams representing the 16 sectors/colonies under the constituency are participating in the tournament which carries a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for the champion team and Rs. 30,000 for the runners-up, both with trophies, besides the individual awards.Playing the inaugural match defending champions High School Daredevils defeated Lower L. Khel Vikings by 50 runs. Opting to bat first, Daredevils set a target of 181 runs losing 2 wickets in 20 overs while Vikings managed to score 130 losing 9 wickets. Hokaito of Daredevils scored highest 94* runs and also claimed 3 rival wickets giving away 20 runs in 3 overs to receive the man of the match award.
In the second match, P. Khel Eagles defeated Peraciezie Royals by 8 wickets. Royals batting first set a target of 134 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs while Eagles achieved it in 16.1 overs losing 3 wickets. Moni was awarded man of the match for his 38* runs and also claiming four rival wickets giving away 22 runs in 4 overs. Earlier, Chairman of Kohima Village Council Neivor Rutsa declared the tournament open while also encouraging the players to give their best.
Chaired by organizing convener Elvis Mepfhüo the tournament commenced with RevPastor of BMC, Rev. Moa Longchari saying the invocation while Jamite Jamir administered oath to the participating teams.
