29th MDCA inter-club cricket tournament to commence from Feb. 22

Mokokchung, Feb. 15 (EMN): The 29th MDCA inter-club cricket tournament will commence from 22 February at Imkongmeren Sports Complex. This was announced by Mokokchung District Cricket Association during a press conference on Saturday.

Mokokchung District Cricket Association (MDCA) President said that the 29th MDCA inter-club cricket tournament would be organised by Titans Cricket Club under the aegis of the MDCA.

“This year the MDCA decided to outsource the organisation of the inter-club tournament with an aim to share the responsibilities of organising a cricket tournament and to create space for upcoming leadership and promotion of the game,” he said.

He also informed that the MDCA functions under the directives of the Nagaland Cricket Association, which is affiliated to BCCI.

Four times champion of the Inter-club cricket tournament, the Titans Cricket club has signed a MoU with the MDCA to host the 29 MDCA inter- club cricket tournament for this season, MDCA officials informed.

The MDCA also informed that players under various categories representing Mokokchung district at the district level will be selected during the tournament.

The tournament will carry a cash prize worth one lakh with certificates and trophies along with individual prizes.

The forms for the tournament will be issued from February 15 and will be available at Lovely Centre, near Police point and Fix your Fixation near Yongpang market.
