Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 266 new Covid-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s tally to 14,717.
The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated that out of the 266 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 162 were in Dimapur, 71 in Kohima, 11 in Tuensang, eight in Mon, four each in Peren and Mokokchung, three in Longleng and one each in Kiphire, Phek and Zunheboto.
He added that 32 patients -- 17 in Dimapur, eight in Phek, three in Tuensang and two each in Kohima and Mokokchung – recovered during the same period of time.
The state currently has 1850 active Covid-19 cases and registered 12,357 recoveries so far.
3449 deaths in India
Meanwhile, India continues to witness surge in Covid-19 cases with 3,57,229 new cases registered in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s active caseload to 34,47,133 and tally to 20,282,833 (about 2.02 crore), according to data provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The country registered 3,449 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 222,408 at national mortality rate of 1.10%. It also reported 3,20,289 recoveries, taking the total recoveries to 1,66,13,292.
The Health ministry also updated that 15,89,32,921 vaccine doses have been administered through 23,35,822sessions so far, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Tuesday.
