244 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths reported in Nagaland

Dimapur, May 19 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded 244 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s active caseload to 4425 and tally to 18,714, while recoveries in the last 24 hours was 215.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated that out of the new positive cases, 115 were in Dimapur, 88 in Kohima, 12 each in Mokokchung and Zunheboto, five each in Longleng and Wokha, three in Mon, two in Peren and one each in Kiphire and Phek.

He added that 152 patients in Dimapur, Kohima-47, Mokokchung-6, Phek-4, Zunheboto-3, and one each in Kiphire, Peren and Tuensang recovered during the same period, taking the state’s total recoveries to 13706.

The state also reported six deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 223, out of which 11 have been ruled “not Covid-related”.

Out of 4425 active cases in the state, 4048 are asymptomatic, 176 mild, 71 moderate on oxygen, 75 severe on oxygen, 40 in ICU without ventilator and 16 in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Dimapur accounts for 2525 infections, Kohima- 1350, Mon- 144, Mokokchung- 105, Tuensang- 69, Zunheboto- 61, Longleng- 45, Phek- 39, Kiphire- 37, Wokha- 29, and Peren- 22.
