24 students graduate from UCTM

Graduating students of United College of Theology and Mission along with guest speaker and faculty members at the graduation ceremony.

Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): United College of Theology and Missions (UCTM) 5th Mile Model Village, Dimapur, celebrated its 20th Graduation ceremony, where 13 students received Master of Divinity certificate under ATA, 8 students were awarded Bachelor of Theology under IIICS, 2 students received College Diploma and 1 student was awarded Short Term Basic Orientation.

Conferring of degrees and presenting special awards were performed by Principal, Academic Dean and Board Chairman. Principal Award (Academic Award) was given to Ms Liche-ü Mero of M. Div. and Jacob Seb of B. Th. for their overall academic performance. President Award is given to Ms Mezilü Venuh for the best thesis. D Haralu Award was given to Paul N Rengma for his sincerity in practical soul winning ministry. He was also the recipient of Students of the Year Award for his overall performance in academic, community and spiritual life.

Various departmental awards were given to students who scored highest in each department.

Speaking as guest speaker, Dr. A Loso Chalai, former physician to Governor of Nagaland, stressed on taking the authority in Jesus name to do away evil practices in the society saying every genuine believer should uphold quality life to withstand against all evil forces around us. To counter evil forces, he insisted prayer and sincerity by focusing on Jesus. Stating that the world has become more hostile to Gospel than ever before, he said one must be prepared for the worst and expect the best.

The leader of the graduation service was Epovezo Chuzho, while the welcome address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, and scripture reading and prayer by Rev. Tenga Seb, pastor of Rengma Baptist Church, Dimapur. Speech on behalf of graduating students was delivered by Ms Liche-ü Mero, while special songs were presented by Ao Baptist Church, Chumukedima, and UCTM choir. Commissioning prayer was offered by Rev. Amos Humtsoe, Director of Christ for the City International Nagaland and benediction was said by Rev. Dr. Nüvocho Dzüdo, pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church, East Dimapur.
