22nd MBE Zhuikhu Memorial Trophy concludes

Dimapur, Feb. 27 (EMN): The 22nd MBE Zhuikhu Memorial Trophy under the aegis of Western Sumi Sports Association meet 2021 concluded on Feb. 27 with MLA, Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu, as the guest of honour at Kuhoxu village in Niuland.  

In his speech, Nienu encouraged all sportspersons to train for the best and vie to participate for the top spot even at national levels. He also appreciated the Sumi youth and leaders for their unity in organising such an event even under difficult circumstances and remarked that they should lead others towards a better society wherever possible. 

Badminton:

Champion – East Dimapur ‘B’ team

Runner- up – East Dimapur ‘A’ team

Volleyball (women): 

Champion – Ahozhe team, Kuhuboto area

Runner-up- Ghowoto team, Aqahuto area

Best setter – Alivi, Ahozhe team, 

Best spiker – Livi Shohe, Sunito team

Best player – Lovitoly, Ghowoto team

Volleyball (Men):

Champion – Vikuho team, Kuhuboto area

Runners up – Highway team, Highway area

Best setter: Jessy Yeptho, Vikuho team

Best spiker – Pitovi, Vikuho team

Best player – Avika Awomi, Highway team

Fair play award: Kuhoxu team

Football:

Champion – Suhoi team, Kuhuboto area

Runners up – K Hetoi team, Niuland area

First hattrick – Kakhevi, East Dimapur team

Highest scorer (five goals) – Mughapu, K Hetoi team

Best defender – Ito Aye, Suhoi team

Best goalkeeper – Tonoka, K Hetoi team

Best player – Mughapu, K Hetoi team.
