Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 30 ‘TO be born in India is the best inheritance that we must be grateful’ expressed Governor P.B.Achraya on the occasion of Durga Puja celebration today at Dimapur Kalibari organized by Dimapur Kalibari Committee and acknowledged temple to be a place where people from all walks of life get-together seeking for peace. He said, through interaction with God, man realizes one’s strength and understands what one can do. Addressing the Bengali community and other invitees on the occasion, Governor said that the community has been living in Nagaland for years in spite of all difficulties and reached this far making a name for them. He called upon them to live with responsibilities. With new government into power who are much stronger with spirit and will power, he said that with God’s given society to rise, the new government has come to lift it up. Referring to the word ‘NAMASTEY’ he enlightened the gathering that the word has all the eight Northeastern states where N stands for Nagaland, A for Assam, M for Meghalaya and Mizoram, A for Arunachal Pradesh, S for Sikkim and T for Tripura. Acknowledging that the eight Northeastern states have been gifted with abundant natural resources, the people are living in difficulties because of lack of knowledge. ‘Nagaland is rich but Nagas are poor, India is rich but Indians are poor’ stated Governor P.B.Acharya. He also articulated that the 21st Century belongs to India and called upon every individual not to be self-centered but use education for the society and the nation at large. Stating education to be an empowerment, Governor persuaded the gathering to use education as a tool to move the society and not just as ‘education for education’. In this way, one can be regarded as hard worker. Asserting that service to man is service to God, Acharya affirmed that India is not against Christianity or Islam as we are a secular and a democratic nation.
