The person told Eastern Mirror that he spotted two tigers — one was in the middle of the road and another on the roadside — at around 6:30 am on Tuesday while he was travelling alone in a car from Thenyizumi village under Phek district to Kohima.

The source claimed that the big cats were seen approximately 18 km away from the state capital, between Dzüü River and Kohima.

The source went on to add the tigers went below the road on seeing the vehicle.
