DIMAPUR — Two people were killed when the car in which they were travelling hit a stationary truck at 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, on Saturday (Jan. 20) night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Dimapur, Khekali Y Sumi said that, as per preliminary report, the car which was proceeding towards Dimapur, rammed into the truck, killing the female occupant on the spot while the driver succumbed to his injuries at CIHSR hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Tovika Sumi (31 years), the driver, and Erang Konyak (38 years).
The DCP informed that as per the CCTV footage, the accident occurred around 9:30 pm and that the car was traveling at a high speed. Further investigation is on, she said.
