2 injured in gelatin stick explosion

Dimapur, Dec. 28: A tense situation prevailed in Dimapur town as a gelatin stick exploded injuring two persons, one of them seriously, travelling in separate cars at New Dhansiri bridge area here at around 6.30 pm on Wednesday. The explosion also hit the vehicle of Dr Ronald Lotha, the general secretary (Protocol & Frontals) of the newly formed Nagaland Congress. However, he escaped unhurt.
Dr Lotha said he was returning home when the blast took place. The splinters of the explosive hit the rear window and front door of his Nissan Terrano car. He reported the matter to the patrolling police personnel along the way and filed an FIR with East Police station Dimapur in this regard. The OC of East Police Station said the incident might be accidental and could not be ascertained immediately. He said two persons, aged 27 and 21 years, both males, were injured in the incident. Both the injured persons were admitted in hospital, he stated adding the condition of one of them is serious.
