2 held for attempted murder

Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): Dimapur police has arrested two persons on November 14 on charges of attempting to murder a truck driver after drugging the victim.
According to police report, the accused were identified as Jitu Chaudhary (35), son of Javid Chaudhary of Panikhaiti village in Kamrup district, Assam, and Randip (37), son of Sukhbir of Bahri village in Karnal district, Haryana.
It stated that accused persons firstly drugged the victim and subjected to brutal assault. The victim was later disposed off below NH 29 near Chumoukedima in the evening of November 12 and fled with the empty truck.
Basing on specific inputs, the truck bearing a Haryana Registration number was recovered from a house in Toluvi village, after which the house owner Khekuto (42) of Toluvi village was also arrested. Following the recovery of the truck, the two main accused persons were subsequently arrested from Dimapur. It stated that the driver is currently recuperating in a local hospital. A criminal case has been registered in Chumoukedima Police Station for further investigation.
Meanwhile on November 13, Dimapur police seized a huge consignment of banned Spasmo Proxyvon capsules totalling around 21 cartoons with an approximate market value of INR 52,00000 from a warehouse in Sematilla.
In this connection, police arrested one person namely Hotoi Sumi (31), son of Suhovi Sumi of Nikihe village in Niuland, Dimapur. Case in this connection has been registered at SBN Police Station for further investigation.
