Two girls died in a road accident while a youth has been stabbed to death following a scuffle that took place in Uripok area in Manipur.
According to sources the two girls who were on their way to tuition in a two wheeler Honda Activa reportedly hit a truck which was parked on the road side of the Highway at Khabam Lamkhai under Heingang Police Station on Friday morning. The deceased girls have been identified as Th Sanathoibi (14) daughter of Thoiba of Luwangsangbam Khunou and Thingbaijam Anameya (14)daughter of Malembabu of Tengdongyang,it added.
Meanwhile one Angom Birendrajit (31) son of Basantakumar of Uripok Yambem Leikai got involved in a shuffle with one Tongbram Nonglenkhomba alias Abothe (29) son of Chingsanglakpa of Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai which led to bloodshed in Imphal on Thursday night.
Protesting the incident, the locals of Uripok has dismantled the house of the persons involved in stabbing the individual, reports said. Meanwhile police have rounded up both the said accused along with his father in connection with the incident while the residents of Uripok area had convened a public meeting.
Later the meeting held at Yambem Mohori Memorial Youth Club decided to drive out Nonglenkhomba’s family from the locality and asked to compensate Rs 20 lakhs to the deceased family.
The Police has registered a case and arrested the said two accused with his father.
