2-day Taekwondo C’ship 2013 begins in Dimapur

The two-day Taekwondo Championship-2013 got underway at Honili Memorial School, Dimapur today with participants from different parts of Dimapur and elsewhere vying for the titles under various categories.This is for the first time that taekwondo championship is being held in Dimapur.
MLA and Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) chairman Jacob Zhimomi, who was the chief guest at the inaugural function, urged the participants to put in lot of hard works and take their spirit to higher level in order to be successful.
Jacob also underlined that winning is important but discipline is also equally important to move ahead in any field of activities.
On the part of government, he asserted that the government is always ready to help the deserving players in any discipline if they are worth it.
The MLA also took the opportunity to heap praise on Faith in Action Foundation, the organizers of the two-day championship, for its noble intention and representing Naga youths in the national level.
The Faith in Action Foundation, which conquered millions of hearts from around the world, brought laurels to the State by reaching the semi finals of the reality show India Got Talents Season 3 and participating in other TV shows.
The MLA urged the Faith in Action Foundation to tie up with Kiti-do academy founded by Israel Xuivi to take indigenous Naga martial arts to a higher level.
Faith in Action Foundation founder Deep Kumar Talukdar delivered the welcome address.
The members of the Foundation displayed their stunning display of acrobatic Taekwondo techniques during the inaugural function.
