Mokokchung, May 1 (EMN): The best of Nagaland mountain bike riders from all over the state are camped in Mokokchung for the first ever Nagaland downhill championship organised by Trail Hounds Cycling Club(THCC) as part of Moatsu festival, the premier seed sowing festival of the Ao Nagas .
Altogether twenty five riders will compete on May 2 for the coveted podium in the outskirts of Chuchuyimpang village. The riders will cover a distance of more than two kilometres negotiating steep, rough terrain with jumps, drops, rock gardens and other obstacles.
This will be the first time in the history of Nagaland Mountain Biking where Riders will be ranked according to their performances. Riders representing five cycling club namely team Native Station, Eccentric Riders, Extreme Tribal Brothers racing team, No Barriers Cycling Club and Trail Hounds Cycling Club will be competing in the championship.
It may be mentioned that mountain biking is one of the most exciting and spectacular formats of cycling in the world which is capturing the youths of Nagaland by storm of late.
