18th NOOCT 2021 concludes

Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): The 18th Nagaland Open Online Chess Tournament (NOOCT) 2021, organised by the Nagaland Chess Enthusiasts Group (NCEG) under the aegis of Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) concluded on May 19.

It was held in Lichess (arena mode), with a time format of 3+0 (Blitz), an update read.

The prizes were sponsored by vice president NCA, Toikhu Awomi, advisor Sumi Chess Association Nagaland, Itokhu Achumi and honorary secretary NCA and joint secretary All India Chess Federation.

It said that all together 42 players participated from different parts of Nagaland.

Mughaho Awomi, Khoveto Vero, Sourav Singh, Toivi Yeptho, Itokhu Awomi, Salhuto Nyekha,         Kevilikho Zumvu, Muluto Phesao, S Litingse Sangtam and Pikuto Chishi were the top ten winners in the open category.

The top five players in the Under-16 category were Kunvuto Awomi, Pulonito Hesso, Intovi Awomi, Jitihto Nyekha and Manas Sharma.

In the female category, Shabnam Singh won the first position while Muzivolu won the second prize.

In the below 1600 Lichess rating category, Imkongangnen  B Pongener, Tunato V Chophi and Tingkon won the top three positions.                            

Meanwhile, in the below 1850 Lichess rating category, Nipeto Hesso, Avituo Nagi  and Toikhu Awomi were the top winners.
