Fourteen teams from across Nagaland to compete in the 18th Imchaba Master Open Volleyball Tournament in Mokokchung from October 21.

MOKOKCHUNG — The 18th edition of the Imchaba Master Open Volleyball Tournament 2025 is set to begin from October 21 to the 24th at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, featuring 14 teams from across Nagaland.
Teams from Kohima, Tuensang, Zunheboto and host Mokokchung will compete in the four-day event organised by the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA).
Reigning champions MH-10 from Kohima will return to defend their title with a reshuffled squad. Coach S Tali Imchen said two new spikers had been inducted to strengthen the team’s attack and expressed confidence about retaining the trophy.
Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA), runners-up in the previous edition, have also refreshed their lineup by combining senior players with new entrants. General Secretary Meyitiba said the team hoped the new combination would help improve on their earlier performance.

Chienino Brothers from Kiruphema village, Kohima, are making a comeback after a year’s gap and will field both senior and junior teams. Team representative Rokovizo Dahou said all players were local talents from Kiruphema and were determined to better their 2023 semi-final finish.
Kiruphema, often referred to as Kohima’s “volleyball capital,” has produced several top players over the years.
The fixture draw for the tournament was announced on October 17. The teams have been grouped as follows:
Pool A: MH-10 Kohima, Chienino Brothers Kiruphema (A), Longsa Sporting Club Mokokchung, Shikaho Memorial Club Akuluto
Pool B: Evergreen Club Ungma, Southern Angami Sports Association Kohima, Yajang ‘C’
Pool C: Chienino Brothers Kiruphema (B), Fly High Tuensang, Yisemyong Volleyball Association
Pool D: Changtongya Volleyball Association, United Changki, Spadroon Club Chungtia, Yang’s Brothers
The opening match will take place on October 21.
