176 recruits inducted into Assam Rifles

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a glittering attestation parade held at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC & S) in Shokhuvi under Dimapur, 176 Assam Rifles recruits have been inducted into the force on Staurday.
Additional Directorate General of the Assam Rifles Major General M K Yadav reviewed the parade. The parade was witnessed by a large number of people including parents of the newly-inducted Assam Rifles personnel.
The parade was conducted by the parade Adjutant Major Julee and commanded by recruit Bishal Rai. The young soldiers took the customary oath to serve the motherland and protect its integrity even at the cost of their lives.
While addressing the recruits, Major General M K Yadav highlighted the antecedents of the Assam Rifles as the oldest paramilitary force of the country and its diversified role which continues to be all-encompassing in the present day environment. The role of the security force range from security to providing welfare and developmental assistance to the civil population.The major general said that the Assam Rifles was the backbone of the society’s security and shall always go hand in hand with the civil populace in bringing peace and harmony amongst the people, Nagaland in general, and the northeast states of the country as a whole.
He also complimented Brigadier K Narayanan, Commandant ARTC & S and his team of dedicated staff for imparting value based training to the recruits for their future as trained soldiers of the nation.
The Assam Rifles chief complimented the recruits on their passing out from ARTC&S. he expressed hope that they would be able to live up to the expectations of his comrades, units, force and the country in the days to come and bring laurels in their endeavor.
He encouraged them to keep up the good name of the security force by way of hard work and dedication and keep the Assam Rifles flag flying high in the true spirit of being ‘friends of the hill people”.
The chief guest awarded Recruit/Clerk Bishal Rai of No. 1 Trg Bn as the ‘Over All Best Recruit’, Recruit/Tailor Balbir Singh of No. 2 Trg Bn, Rectruit/Clerk Bittu Pradhan of No. 3 Trg Bn and Rectruit/Clerk Govind Parihar of No. 1 Trg Bn were awarded for ‘Best in Drill’, Recruit/Clerk Jitu Chhetri of No.3 Trg Bn, Rectruit/Tailor Sandeep Kumar of No.2 Trg Bn and Rectuit/Tailor Kamal Chhetri of No.1 Trg Bn were awarded for ‘Best in Physical.’
Major General M K Yadav, Additional Directorate General, Assam Rifles also released the 1st edition of the quarterly news letter of ARTC & S, Shokhuvi on the occasion.
