166 cases involving P&AR dept. under Vigilance investigation

Dimapur, Aug. 22: The erstwhile Vigilance Commission (now merged with the Lokayukta) registered 166 cases involving the state’s department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) during the period between March 2018 and February 2019.

Ninety cases are still under investigation, according to the annual administrative report of the department. Out of the total 116, 78 were said to be outstanding cases from the previous year.

The number of gazetted officers penalised and convicted were informed to be 47 while non-gazetted employees were six.

According to the report, an amount of INR 2,06,98,968 (two crore six lakh ninety-eight thousand nine hundred sixty-eight) was recovered during March 2018 to February 2019; and an amount of INR 2,50,000 (two lakh fifty thousand) recovered by the Vigilance court.

After thorough investigation and case settlement, disciplinary authorities have discharged and terminated two persons from service during the period, while 53 persons were served with administrative warning.

Ninety cases were also registered and investigated under various departments in the state during the same period. The highest number of cases registered was 14 under the department of Health and Family Welfare, 12 cases under the PWD), nine cases under the department of School Education.
