DRDA Peren organised a district-level People's Plan Campaign training in Jalukie to strengthen GPDP 2026-27preparation.

DIMAPUR — The Department of Rural Development, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Peren, organised a district-level training on the People's Plan Campaign (PPC) for preparing the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the financial year 2026–27 at the Women Hall, Jalukie, on July 8.
According to a DIPR report, Project Director of DRDA Peren, Rongsenmenla, in her keynote address, described the GPDP as the foundation for inclusive and sustainable rural development.
She urged all line departments to actively participate in the planning process and work closely with Gram Panchayats and frontline workers to prepare realistic, need-based and people-centric development plans.
The technical session was led by District Programme Manager (DPM), Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), Megoselhu Thou, who served as the resource person.
He presented the objectives and framework of the People's Plan Campaign and explained the process of preparing the GPDP.
Thou also stressed the importance of community participation and highlighted the role of line departments in ensuring effective planning.

ATI workshop stresses stronger enforcement of PoSH Act
A session on the Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP) was conducted by Dzuthovoyi Kapfo, District Functional Specialist (DFS), Livelihoods, DMMU Peren, NSRLM.
He spoke on the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Village Level Organisations (VLOs) and cluster-level institutions under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
Kapfo emphasised the need for active community participation, technical support and sector-specific inputs from line departments to ensure that development plans reflect the aspirations and priority needs of rural communities.
Officials from 16 line departments participated in the training. Presentations on departmental programmes, policies and schemes were delivered by R Chorhotshu Nyusou, CDPO, Jalukie, from the Social Welfare department; Neimulu Noswe, Assistant Fishery Inspector, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources department; and Rulin T, SDO, Water Resources department, highlighting the government's commitment to convergence and coordinated planning for holistic rural development.
The Rural Development department appreciated the active participation and cooperation of all line departments and reiterated that the success of the People's Plan Campaign depends on the collective efforts of all stakeholders in preparing comprehensive, realistic and inclusive GPDPs.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Duaklube Newme, Block Development Officer, Tening block.
