15th NSF MARTYRS’ MEMORIAL TROPHY: Hike FC, Phesama YO, Chuziezou FC and Addax FC wins

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 5

Hike Football Club Kohima Village, Phesama Youth Organisation, Chuziezou FC Thizama and Addax FC defeated respective rivals to move ahead into the second round on fifth day of the 15th edition of NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy played under the theme ‘Goal for Peace’ here in the Local ground.
Playing the first match, Hike FC Kohima Village defeated Gideon FC by 2-1
The first half ended in a goalless draw but two minutes into the second half, it was Mhalesatuo scoring the first lead for Hike FC but they failed to hold it long as Bonito managed to find the equalizer with next three minutes (40 minute) of the game. Nonetheless, Mhalesatuo once again gave his team the lead in 45th minute to ultimately win the match.
In the second match, Phesama Youth Organisation triumphed over Street Hawk FC Kohima by 2-0. Both the goals were scored by Neisalietuo Kuotsu in the second half (44th and 64th minutes).
Playing the third match, Chuziezou FC Thizama defeated two-times runners-up (2000 and 2002) New Market XI by 2-1. Chuziezou scored both the goals in the first half through Teiso in 4th minute and Ruokuo in 12th minute of the game while New Market managed their only goal in the 44th minute through Megovilie. This was the 40th match for New Market in the history of NSF MM Trophy.
In the last match of the day, Addax FC defeated Native Feathers by 11-10 via tie-breaker after both the teams were locked in 1-1 draw during the stipulated 70 minutes play.
Keviphretuo of Addax FC scored first goal in 36th minute while the equalizer came through Khiuwangbo Kaurilta in 43rd minute for Native Feathers. Interestingly, the breaker witnessed all the 22 players taking a shot.
