158 new Covid-19 cases take Nagaland’s active caseload to 1353; 4 lakh in India

Nagaland’s Covid-19 active caseload has increased to 1353 with 158 new cases were reported on Saturday.

The state’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 14134 and death toll to 97 with three more persons succumbing to the disease.

The minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated that 110 cases were reported in Dimapur, 39 in Kohima, six in Mokokchung and one each in Mon, Wokha and Longleng in the last 24 hours.

He added that 44 patients — 34 in Kohima, nine in Dimapur and one in Mokokchung– recovered during the same period, taking the number of recoveries in the state to 12268.

According to the Health and Family Welfare department update, the state has currently has 1353 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1189 are asymptomatic, 113 mild, 24 moderate on oxygen, 24 severe on oxygen, one critical-ICU with oxygen and two critical-ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 1,047, 225 in Kohima, 28 in Mokokchung, 20 in Tuensang, nine in Phek, eight in Mon, six in Longleng, three each in Peren and Wokha, and two each in Kiphire and Zunheboto.

3523 deaths in one day

Meanwhile, India’s total active case load reached 32, 68, 710 (32.68 lakh) on Saturday with 4, 01, 993 (4.01 lakh)new cases registered in the last 24 hours, according to data provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ten states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar accounted for 73.71% of the new cases.

It informed that 3,523 deaths were reported with the ten states accounting for 76.75% of the new deaths.

The country’s Covid-19 tally now stands at 1,91,64,969 (1.91 crore) and death toll pushed to 2,11,853 (2.11 lakh).

Further, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country it 15,49,89,635. It said that more than 27 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
