14th Music Awards of Nagaland: Benry Moses wins ‘Song of the Year’ award

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The much-awaited 14th Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) 2022 ceremony was held at Nagaland Bamboo Research Centre in Chümoukedima on December 10.

The event was organised by Native Trax Society (NTS) in collaboration with Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) and Department of Tourism Nagaland.

One of the artistes gives his acceptance speech during the 14th Music Awards of Nagaland held at Nagaland Bamboo Research Centre in Chümoukedima on Dec. 10.

The evening witnessed scintillating performances by few of the best artistes of Nagaland including Temsu Clover, Psycho K4, African Amakishiu, JV Kelio and Kevi Zumvü.

The judges for this year’s edition were well known actor, film director, producer, music director, composer and former VJ, Luke Kenny (chief judge); Dr. Tolto Metha who is a team member of NBDA, vocalist if White Fire, a gospel rock band based in Guwahati; and Sunep Lemtur, a renowned professional singer, song writer, actor, producer, director, composer and an entrepreneur.

A total of 54 entries were nominated in various genres and the award for the song of the year was selected through a public choice award that secured the highest number of views on the MAN YouTube channel.

During the event, short speech was delivered by Chairman of Livingstone Foundation International, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema.

Winners of 14th edition of MAN are:

1. Best EDM Song: JV Keli-o for Drip

2. Best Gospel Song: Sanepong Tzudir for 'Beautiful lies and ugly truth'

3. Best Gospel Song (Local Dialects): Tsali I Sangtam for 'Achangka Mah'

4. Best Rap/Hiphop Song: Noel Zoek feat. Moko Koza for 'Mayhem'

5. Best Rap/Hiphop song (Hindi/Local Dialects): Psycho K4 for 'Ni Sumi'

6. Best Pop Song (Solo): Kekhrie Ringa for 'Made for you'

7. Best Pop Song (Duo/Group): Tia Longkumer feat Meyisanen for 'Stay Close'

8. Best Pop Song (Local Dialects): Kitoka Yepthomi for 'Lhokuthu Kimiyeni'

9. Best Rock Song (Alt/ Indie): Imtisang for 'Sunset'

10. Best Rock Song (Metal/ Heavy): FifthNote for 'Here we are'

11. Song of the Year: Benry Moses for 'Breathe'

12. Best Music Video: Kino for 'Replay'

 13. Best music Video Director:  Kohdi Jings for 'Replay'

 14. Best Producer: Nagabeatz for 'Ni Sumi'

15. Best Sound Engineer: Moyuchen Yanthan for 'The Silence' by Naga Sirens

16. Best Lyricist/ Songwriter: Shalo Kent for 'Made for you' sung by Kekhrie Ringa

17. Best Upcoming Artiste/Band: Ilmi Longkumer

18. Lifetime Achievement Award: Takatemjen Ao
