Diphu, Nov. 26 (EMN): The 12-hour Karbi Anglong bandh imposed by the 16 social organisations of Karbi Anglong on Monday passed off peacefully but paralysed normal life.
Businesse establishments, government offices and other institutions remained closed. Roads in and aroud Diphu wore a deserted look.
The bandh was called in protest against the move to grant ST (H) status to Bodos tribe living in Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.

Karbi Students Association (KSA), President Simeon Rongphar in a statement said “if the competent authority is not going to solve our problems we shall move on with demand in the forthcoming days.”
