The 11th Edition of Friendly Volleyball tournament of Titabor, Jorhat district Assam and Changpang Circle, Wokha district Nagaland was held at Old Tssori village under the theme ‘Strive for unity.’ During the inaugural programme of the tournament, chief guest N Jacob Yanthan, Dy Director of Agriculture and Vice President Nagaland Volley Ball Association emphasised on the need of games and sports to uplift the younger generation with good message of unity and relationship between the two states. Yanthan also congratulated the leaders who initiated the events and bringing better future of the sports loving person in border areas. He urged the participants both from Titabor and Champang circle to concentrate and to make total commitment by using the hidden talents which God has given to them. Yanthan expressed his hope that the tournament will strengthen the age old relationship that was left by the forefathers between Assamese and Nagas.
Gautum Bordoloi, Jorhat Distric Mueseum Officer, guest of honour exhorted the participants to honor and continue the relationship amongst Nagas and Assamese.
Games and Sports is an instrument which plays a vital role in bringing the society more closer and understanding said Bordoloi and requested the organizing committee both the Titabor and Champang circle to invite more clubs, villages teams in near future.
Altogether 16 teams, including women team are participating in the tournament. The winner of the tournament will walk away with cash, certificates and mementos.
