118th Birth Anniversary of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose oberved in Imphal
IMPHAL, January 23
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 118th Birth Anniversary of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was held under the aegis of Department of Art and Culture and Indian National Army(INA) Advisory Committee ,Moirang at INA Martyrs Memorial Complex, Moirang about 45 km south of Imphal in Manipur’s Bishnupur district today.
Speaking on the occasion state’s parliamentary secretary (Tourism and Youth affairs and Sports) M Prithviraj Singh said the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the country’s freedom struggle is known not only in India but across the whole world.The government of Manipur under the leadership of chief minister O Ibobi singh is also developing the INA complex Moirang into a state of the art facility, he said.
Former MLA of Moirang S Gopal Singh, Joint Director Art and Culture Dr K Sushila Devi and Former Professor of History, Jadavpur University Dr Purabi Roy also attended the observation as functional President and Guests of Honour respectively.
In another development, All India Forward Block(AIFB), Manipur State Committee also today observed the 118th Birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Inaugural Ceremony of Planetary Year at Manipur Press Club in Imphal.
Today’s observation is the 45th time that AIFB, Manipur State Committee had been observing the day remembering the great freedom fighter of the state. The Planetary year celebration will continue till June 22 this year.
Secretary CPI Manipur State Council, Dr Moirangthem Nara, Chairman AIFB, Manipur State Committee Apanthou Mangang, Secretariat Member, CPI (M) Manipur State Committee Kshetrimayum Santa, Secretary RSP, Manipur State Ningthoujam Ratan, General Secretary NCP, Manipur State, Yurembam Iboyaima and Executive Member CPI Manipur State Council Laishram Sotin also attended the observation as Chief Guest, President and Guests of honour.
