Mokokchung, Oct. 22 (EMN): Sungratsü Students’ Union Mokokchung (SSUM) has conferred Excellency Awards to eleven students of HSLC and HSSLC for their outstanding performance during a programme held at Sungratsü fellowship hall in Mokokchung town on October 22.

Excellency Award 2022 was started a decade ago to honour students from Sungratsü Students’ Union Mokokchung who excel in academics and from coming years onwards, SSUM will include achievers from games and sports as well as other fields, stated SSUM president, B Aoluin Aier, in his welcome address.

He added that the Excellency Award is being presented to the HSLC and HSSLC students for their achievement in the academic field by generating new enthusiasm in the students.

He encouraged the students to give thanks to their parents and teachers, who have played an important role in guiding and moulding them to achieve their goals and further urged them to build competitive spirit in them in this advanced and competitive world.

Temjenwapang Longchar, vice principal of DIET Mokokchung and special invitee, stated that possessing good interrelationship skills along with social and communication skills are an important feature in NEP 2020, which emphasises on skill development.

In this regard, he motivated the students that today’s achievement was just the first step in life and the springboard to achieve more success in their life that would benefit society in large. He reminded the students to be diligent in their work and maintain discipline to be successful persons.

Dwelling on the influence of foreign culture, he encouraged the youth to discover their skills and talents and incorporate the various qualities from the influence and make use of it to mould their talents.

He further stated that in this modern era one needs to be specialised in particular field and be meticulous in whatever work one does by integrating skills and knowledge.

Watizulu Aier, president of Sungratsü Senso Senden Mokokchung, while delivering words of encouragement, lauded the organising committee for successfully organising the programme in order to encourage students to strive for excellence.

“When we understand how our lives are influenced by our forefathers, we should appreciate the good deeds that have been passed down through our families with blessings and be wise and honest” he stated.

He further encouraged the students, who have received the awards, by stating that it is not the end but just the beginning of their journey to think, aim and work to achieve one’s goal in life by discovering their inborn talents and search for wise knowledge and build their spirit with hardwork and dedication with consistency.

The recipients of awards are Ketienla Aier, Yashmenla Aier, Ajang Aier, Tianaro Aier, Temjenlong Aier, Supongjungshi, Lautemsu Aier, Aosener Ozukum, Tiasola, Temsutula and Tekanungla.
