DIMAPUR — In a recent political development, 11 members from GPRN/NSCN (U), Khehoyi camp, comprising three kilonsers, six deputy kilonsers and two tatars have joined GPRN/NSCN led by its president, Maj. (retired) RM Lotha, and Ato kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi.
The members are Tokiho Aye (kilonser), TokihoTuccu (kilonser), Kakiho G Zhimo (kilonser), Botovi K Aye (deputy kilonser), Akheto Swu (deputy kilonser), Hojekhu Chishi (deputy kilonser), Hotoshe H Jimo (deputy kilonser), Asheto Shohe (deputy kilonser), Hokugha Awomi (deputy kilonser), Mughato Muru (tatar) and Nitoho Ayemi (tatar).
A GPRN/NSCN press release through its MIP stated that the members who have relocated from the Khehoyi camp recounted their experiences with considerable distress. They indicated that a small group of self-interested individuals within the camp orchestrated a troubling situation on Sunday, a day spiritually observed as a non-working day by the Christian community.
It mentioned that on April 21, 2024, some individuals took the drastic step of unofficially impeaching N Kitovi Zhimomi, who was serving as the Ato kilonser of Unification at that time.
It stated that such a maneuver blatantly contravened the established guidelines set forth in the “Yezabo,” the governing principles of the community.
Additionally, the members highlighted that the entire operation was carried out by a select few from the military without the knowledge or approval of both the cabinet and the broader Naga region representatives. They expressed deep concern over the implementation of an army form of governance model in a modern democratic context. This practice, they contended, was utterly intolerable for anyone truly committed to democratic values and human dignity.
According to MIP, those members are cohesive in their efforts to enhance and solidify the “Agreed Position” recognising its importance in guiding their collective actions in working toward an early Naga solution.
It added that their steadfast commitment to supporting their undisputed leader demonstrated their dedication to effective leadership and a united vision for progress in bringing about peace and prosperity and secured future for the younger Naga generation.
