10th Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement Convention concludes
ZUNHEBOTO — The 10th Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) Convention, themed ‘You are the now of God,’ and hosted by St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Lazami, Zunheboto district, concluded with a mass on Monday.
The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Inashe, encouraged the youth to embrace their role as torchbearers of the Catholic tradition and faith during the closing Holy Eucharistic celebration.
Stressing the importance of commitment to spreading the goodness of Christ, Inashe cautioned the youth against succumbing to the allure of an easy life.
Drawing inspiration from the papal encyclical “Laudato Sii,” he underscored the significance of gratitude, stating, “To be a thankful person is the trademark of hardworking youth.” Inashe also expressed gratitude to the outgoing NCYM executives, led by Dr. Lawrence Kithan, for their hard work and collaboration.
The convention ended with Rev. Fr. George Vekupa lowering the NCYM flag during the closing ceremony, which was chaired by Boniface Adeline.
The newly appointed office bearers of NCYM for the term 2024-2027 will be led by Dr. Rosou Pohena as the president, vice president James Solo, general secretary Veronica Nriame, joint secretary Esther Posarho, treasurer Sedengulie Leo, music secretary Valentina Meyase, representatives to the North Eastern Regional Youth Commission (NERYC) Immanuel Pucho and Mhabeni Yanthan, spokeswoman Samlamgwangle Melody, and vibes chief editor Stephen Kithan, with Wati Toshi Vincent and Magdalene Rongmei as co-editors.
