IMPHAL, Jan 2: Around 10 persons including children of a colony in Manipur’s Senapati district reported fell sick following consumption of ‘poisoned water’ in the hill district headquarters, about 60 km north of the state capital on Friday, a delayed report from Senapati said on eve of New Year. The incident happened at Council colony.
Sources reaching here said those persons who fell sick included 5 males and 5 females who suffered vomiting coupled with headache, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. Most of the sick persons were admitted to district hospital on Friday evening wherein the doctors attending the sick persons suspected that the reason could be due to poisoning of drinking water source, reports available here claimed. On learning the report, villagers reportedly found some chemicals wrapped in a polythene bag inside village water tank.
