Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): A total of 117 goals in 28 matches with the goals- per game average of 32.76 % have been scored till the end of quarter-final at the ongoing 3rd Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament at the IG Stadium.
66 goals with the percentage of 10.56 % per match was scored during the preliminary round while from pre-quarterfinal till the end of quarter-final rounds, 51 goals were scored in 12 matches .
Meanwhile, a record of 10 hat-tricks has been scored with Tepevil Thokhwe of St. Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School netting his 2nd hat-trick on Thursday.
The tournament's first goal was scored by Novicho Natso of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Viswema while the fastest goal was scored by Justin Malangmei of John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema in 1.30 sec.
Striker Tepevil is leading as the highest scorer with a credit of 8 goals while Vichüto Phira, the captain of John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema is in second with 7 goals so far .
Both Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School and John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema had the highest victory margin with 8-0 over their respective rivals in a game each. Meanwhile, two government schools and two private schools have sealed their spots in the last - 4 for the title race.
John Government Higher Secondary School will take on St. Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School in the first semi-final match on Saturday, July 13 at 1 pm while champions of first edition, Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School will clash with Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in the second semi-final match at 2:40 pm.
