10-day Hindi certificate course underway at NU Kohima campus
DIMAPUR — A ten-day Hindi certificate course, organised by the Department of Hindi, Nagaland University (NU), Kohima Campus, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, is underway at NU Kohima campus.
Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, the chief guest of the inaugural programme held on August 21, in his address, gave an insightful speech on the importance of Hindi language, an update from PRO, NU stated.
The special guest Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), also highlighted the significance of Hindi language in Northeast India.
Prof. Sunil Baburao Kulkarni, Director of the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, provided an overview of the ten-day course, detailing its objectives and structure. The programme also received warm greetings from Prof. G. T. Thong, Pro Vice Chancellor of NU, Kohima Campus, who commended the Department of Hindi for its efforts.
Dean of the School of Humanities and Education, Prof. Jano S Legise delivered the welcome address while Dr. Thunbui, assistant professor, shared the programme details. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anuj Kumar, assistant professor, Department of Hindi, NU.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Dr. Brijesh Kumar, assistant professor, Department of Hindi, NU.
“Over 100 participants are expected to attend the certificate course over the next ten days, underscoring the growing interest in Hindi language studies in the region,” it stated.
