Vikheho inaugurates Laza- Phuyeqa vill

Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation & Flood Control and Election, Y Vikheho Swu has inaugurated the newly recognised village Laza-Phuyeqa under Pughoboto sub-division on June 7 as chief guest.
Addressing the inaugural function, Vikheho Swu said the village recognition could become a reality because of bold decision taken by former chief minister, Neiphiu Rio. He has also thanked the former Home minister, Kaito Aye, for his effort in getting the recognition adding the whole thing was possible because of stable DAN government.
Speaking to mammoth gathering, he requested the village to maintain traditional relations with the neighboring villages. Also reiterating on the government policy to promote tourism, he said Laza-Phuyeqa has a vast potential to develop eco-tourism by preserving the forest, wild animals and river product.
The village council submitted the representation to the chief guest for construction of road, electrification, water pipe and immediate repairing of hanging bridge which is the life line between parental village Lazami and Laza-Phuyeqa. In response, the chief guest assured them to construct road from Ghathashi via Chishiqa as it would be short and viable.
With regard to water connection, he has stressed on suitability of water and source, while regarding the hanging bridge which need immediate repair, he said the government has no programme. He has, however, assured to repair the bridge at the earliest. He also exhorted the villagers to keep one identical product in order to attract visitors in future.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Simon Tuyi while invocation prayer was pronounced by Rev. Pikuto, Senior Pastor of Lazami Village Baptist Church. Er. Pukhato Tena has said the welcome address, while the village formation and recognition record was highlighted by Xukiye, GB.
Rev. Fr. Vinato Justin (OFM) blessed the monolith while the chief guest cut the red ribbon commemorating the inauguration of the village. The vote of thanks was proposed by T Alho Swu, village chairman, and the benediction prayer was pronounced by Ahoshe Dominic, Local catechist Lazami Village.
