Two pedestrians killed in truck accident

Dimapur, Feb. 6: Two persons were killed when a heavily loaded truck turned turtle at New Dhansiri Bridge, Dimapur. The incident happened at around 7.40 pm on Sunday.

The two victims have been identified as Isaac and Somipam Shaiza, both 19 years old, and working at a garage in Dimapur.
As per traffic police report when a car coming from the opposite direction with high beam distracted the truck driver’s vision, the truck overturned on the other side of the road and crushed the two pedestrians.

The truck driver identified as Zabir Uddin, 32 years old along with the truck is under the custody of traffic police.

It was reported that the loaded truck carrying eggs was headed to Manipur from Andhra Pradesh. The traffic police personnel informed no case was registered on the request of the family members and the bodies were handed over to the family.
