Teachers’ workshop begins at SM College

Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): A four day workshop on “Equipping teachers for implementation of curriculum in peace studies” was inaugurated on Monday, Oct. 23 by Director Higher Education Kuholi Chishi at Sakus Mission College.
The workshop is being initiated by the Center for Peace Studies, Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai, in partnership with United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and hosting by the Indigenous Research Centre of Sakus Mission College.
A total of 20 faculty members from seven educational institutions from the state are participating in the workshop.
The main resource persons for the workshop are from Principal MCC Dr. Alexander Jesudasan, Rev. Dr. John Prasad, Dr. R. Belinda, and Rev. Joshua Jayaseelan. Other local resource persons are Dr. Alum Longchari and Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir.
The organisers in a press release informed that the workshop aims to impart training for teachers from both secular and theological disciplines in contexts. The programme is designed to make a difference to the social reality of conflict situations by preparing academic institutions and faculty members to train the students to be peace makers.
