DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has extended support to the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) on the issue of multiple taxation and harassment faced by the business community in Dimapur by various Naga national political groups.The WSH, in a press release, maintained that the continuous harassment and imposition of multiple taxation on the business community by various Naga political groups have become a major impediment to the growth and development of businesses in Dimapur. It pointed out that business community has been facing intimidation and summon letters, which is impeding their ability to operate and thrive.“The DCCI has rightly warned that if the unabated multiple taxation, intimidation, and summons are not stopped immediately, it will go for indefinite shutter down. This is a serious threat to the economic stability and sustainability of Dimapur, and action must be taken to address this issue,” the WSH said.Extending solidarity to the DCCI’s stand, the hoho called for an immediate end to the harassment and imposition of multiple taxation.
