NPCC calls for urgent action on Sao Chang College issue
DIMAPUR — The Public Grievances Department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC-PGD) has extended support to the Chang Students’ Conference in demanding the rights of Sao Chang College students.
In a press release on Friday, the NPCC-PGD reminded the state government that there is only one Government College in the whole of Tuensang, Noklak, and Shamator districts. It asserted that the matter of four outdated college buses and the deplorable condition of the 7-kilometre stretch of road leading to the college can no longer be ignored or delayed. “The Government has forced the aggrieved students to opt for shutting down the only college, which in turn affects the students’ careers,” it added.
The NPCC-PGD also underscored that the college is functioning without a Principal and lacks many subject lecturers.
The press release, it said, was a reminder to the Government to immediately take necessary initiatives to correct the irregularities hampering the basic needs of Sao Chang College students.
