NBCC Education Dept celebrates 50th anniversary

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2: Education and Communication department of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 2 at the Platinum Hall, NBCC Office. The Education and Communication Department was formed in 1966.
The programme began with candle march which was followed by bible reading and prayer by Toshoshe Sema, former secretary of Education, NBCC. Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, President NBCC, brought greetings and a short sharing title ‘Reminiscence’ was delivered by Rev. Arenla Longchar, former secretary of Education and Communication, NBCC.
A brief report of the department was presented by Dr. Botoholi, Secretary of Education and Communication Department, NBCC. There was also a video presentation of the department’s history and activities by Sentiyabang Ao, Media Coordinator, NBCC.
Rev. Dr. M. Savi, School Coordinator, NBCC made the offertory prayer and special presentations by Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima, and Children Choir of Sangtam Baptist Church, Kohima.
Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary NBCC, delivered the message on the topic ‘Abundant life through education.’ Rev. K. Luro, former Secretary of Education, NBCC, released the anniversary souvenir which was given out to all the people present. Another book titled ‘Breakthru,’ a three part series of books for the age group 19 – 21 years and a project of the NBCC GIFT curriculum was also released during the programme.
The anniversary programme concluded with pronouncement of blessings by Rev. Kuzierang Thou, State Chaplain. T Apok Jamir, President of Education and Communication chaired the event, while Mrs. Zanthunglo Eli Imti was the pianist. Meanwhile, the Council and the concerned Department have thanked all the associations under NBCC, Christian Education Department of Kohima Ao Baptist Church, Children Department of Angami Baptist Church Council, G Rio Higher Secondary School Kohima, participants, churches, families and individuals who have contributed toward making the event a blessed one.
