Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha, launched a month-long ‘Clean India 2.0’ campaign in Kezoma village on October 1.
Speaking at the state-level launch event, Neikha has echoed the speech of the union minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, at the national-level and appealed to all fellow citizen of Nagaland to usher in cleanliness and reduce use of single-use plastic materials, which is endangering the environment.
Neikha has appreciated the good culture of the Nagas in community services and voluntarism, an update from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) stated. While describing Kezoma village as a peace loving village, he requested the residents to stay united in order to achieve greater height.
Among other dignitaries, executive engineer Vizoto Seletsu, SDO Vimete Pusa, and JE Visakhol Kiso were present during the programme.
To mark the occasion, a cleanliness drive was organised with the participation from NYKS Nagaland staff and volunteers, youth leaders of Kezoma village, Zeru Khel youth organisation, Nakil khel youth organisation, Yohotso ‘A’ khel youth organisation, Yohotso ‘B’ khel youth organisation and men and women of the village.
The programme was initiated and organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanagathan, Nagaland. Meanwhile, NYKS has expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders in making the programme a grand success.
